Life science innovators from Örebro University met investors: “Valuable feedback”
More than 50 research-based innovation projects—including Virenc from Örebro University—were showcased when the Life Science Innovation Frontiers Forum was held in Sweden for the first time. Investors, innovators, and experts from across the country gathered, with a strong focus on the health innovations of the future.
On 16 June, the Life Science Innovation Frontiers Forum 2025 took place—a national event dedicated to innovation, investment, and collaboration. The forum brought together 53 research-based cases in areas such as biotechnology, diagnostics, medical technology, and pharmaceuticals. Several projects from Örebro University participated, including Virenc, Healthish, Responce, and Ambulance Security.
During the morning session, the role of innovation offices in supporting researchers and students was discussed. Statistics from 2023 showed that university-affiliated companies have a significant socio-economic impact.
The forum concluded with an exhibition where innovators had the opportunity to pitch their ideas directly to investors—both in larger group settings and in one-to-one meetings.
Several investors also shared insights and advice. Among the key messages to innovators were the importance of thinking long-term, building the right team, and being well prepared with relevant questions when meeting potential investors.
The Life Science Innovation Frontiers Forum was organised in collaboration between seven regions and several innovation actors. The forum received a warm reception, and many expressed a wish for it to become a recurring feature of the Swedish innovation landscape.
